Ali Aldawoodi was born in Kurdistan and raised in the USA.
His story is one of self-discovery and self-identity. Ali lives at the edge of two very different nationalities where he is often challenged on his values and ways of living. For Americans, he is not American enough and for Kurds, he is not Kurdish enough. The question then is: What is Ali?
Throughout this episode, he shares his views on the questions of immigration, culture, and identity. He tells us about his definition of self as well as the daily battles he must face in order to be at peace within himself and with the world.
